QUESTION PERIOD - NATIONAL FRAMEWORK FOR DIGITAL ID

Senator Deacon asked the Government Representative of the Senate why the federal government has never prioritized implementing the Pan Canadian Trust framework, which lays out a plan for a national Digital ID system. The potential benefits of this action are clear - Canadians would have more control over their private information, cyber security risks would be reduced, and most importantly, the potential of Canada's digital economy would be further unlocked.
